Feminizing Without Surgery

Would you like your face and body to look more feminine?

Whether you are in the process of a gender transition – or simply want to look and feel more feminine, we can help. We’ve seen that the world doesn’t work all that hard to determine another person’s gender. But they do look at the sum total of many individual cues – and make an instant assessment.

Short of full Facial Feminization Surgery, there are many things that can help. It’s a matter of emphasizing the things you want people to notice.

Brow Shaping

One of the quickest and least expensive things a person can do is to shape and soften the brow. We have two aestheticians; either can do this for you in minutes.

Botox® to Relax Your Frowning Brow and Forehead

Botox® has been used for years to create a more youthful appearance, but we know it can make you look more female, too. “Craggy” and “stern” foreheads are often read “male,” but can be easily relaxed by injectable Botox.®

Facial Sculpting for Feminization

We use the dermal fillers Juvaderm,® Juvaderm Plus,® and Voluma® to create more volume in the face. Each product consists of injectable hyaluronic acid (we already have this in our bodies) and the local anesthetic lidocaine. The products vary in viscosity or thickness.

Juvaderm® is used for softening the naso-labial folds and corners of the mouth
Juvaderm Ultra® is the most liquid of the products and is used to add volume to the lips
Voluma,® the most gel-like of the products, is used to enhance mid-face (cheek) volume
All of these products are commonly used to create a more youthful appearance.

But we’ve learned that emphasizing the upper cheeks with Voluma® draws our attention upward to the eyes – and away from a masculine jaw.

Hair Removal by Laser and Electrolysis

The removal of facial hair is done by laser or electrolysis – depending on your hair color. We also do scrotal hair removal in preparation for Gender Confirming Surgeries. And we offer “Nose-to-Toes” Laser Hair Removal. We do consider your comfort in hair removal, and offer prescription-strength numbing medicine at no additional charge. For a modest fee, Dr. Gromko can provide a dental block for facial hair removal or a scrotal block for pre-op preparation.

Brow Arch (waxing and gentle tweezing) is the quickest and most effective way to feminize your appearance and accentuate your eyes! Combine this with brow and lash tinting for a soft, feminine look that lasts for up to ten days. Treat yourself before your holiday party or any special event!

These services are offered as brow arch only, tinting only-or complete package combining brow arch and brow and lash tinting.

Microneedling is a versatile treatment that enhances the skin's ability to heal and repair itself. Also called "micropenning," we use microneedling for these purposes:

  • Reduction of fine lines and wrinkles, evening of skin tone, and rejuvenation of your facial skin. During the treatment we use a hyaluronic acid, a soothing serum that refreshes your skin for a special event-or used, monthly, protects and maintains your skins health and youthful appearance.

  • Reduction of surgical scars and acne scars. By penetrating the skin a little more deeply, we can help your body use its own natural healing process to remodel scar tissue! We are especially interested in helping transmen reduce the marks produced by top surgery, moms reduce stretch marks from pregnancies, and folks with scars that diminish their quality of life in any way.
This technique is not available to individuals who form "keloid" scars.
